Ad Films is the bubble gum art of acting. They could make you look like a greek god or venus or they could cramp your style completely based on the 'look' desired by the client for the brand as well as the theme of the commercial.

Music Videos are an excellent way to break into the acting circuit, it offers you a chance to show off yourself in front of millions of people. While there is not much scope for acting per se in most music videos, they do feed a certain visual frenzy in the viewer. And if you are a good dancer, so much the better to show your moves. Anchoring or Emceeing is a great way to get rid of any inhibitions or crowd fear that an actor might have. It is also an excellent career path for those who dont look like James Dean or Hema Malini.

Theatre is probably the toughest form of acting. You need to 'bring it' - each and every show, you never know which show your worst critic will attend. It's in realtime, directly in front of an audience and is an extremely unforgiving medium - you forget your lines or miss the cue and the whole play could be ruined. Most theatre companies in India are very enterprising about giving newcomers a chance but they are also quick to weed out the wannabe's from the actual thing. It is advisable to go to a reputable theatre coach for at least a few months before even looking for a break here.

Television acting varies from the extremely hectic daily soap to the totally relaxed once a month recap show. You should ideally have some acting experience before you venture in television.
